Are you suffering from headaches, tiredness or bloating? Are you experiencing constipation or skin rashes? These are often signs of intolerance or sensitivity to a particular substance.

The Food Intolerance Test is a comprehensive intolerance test, which analyses up to 900 trigger items that might be causing your symptoms.

These triggers include everyday food and fridge items and non-food items like pollen and pet hair. The test covers an extensive analysis for sensitivities, nutritional deficiencies, gut biome digestive health, hormonal imbalances, and metal sensitivities.

The Difference Between an Allergy and an Intolerance

Allergies are usually more severe than sensitivities or intolerances and are often a lifelong condition. The symptoms typically include headaches, cramps, diarrhoea, gas, or nausea.

Having a food allergy means that the individual’s body cannot digest a certain food item, so exposure to this food will irritate the digestive system immediately. This is why most allergic reactions are felt right away.

On the contrary, an intolerance is normally less severe than an allergy. The symptoms can be similar, but an intolerance to a substance can also cause coughing, swelling, abdominal pain, or breathing problems.

Unlike an allergic reaction, the symptoms of an intolerance are not always seen or felt immediately. They can manifest within 10 minutes to 48 hours after exposure to the trigger.

However, unlike allergies, which are permanent, intolerance can change over time due to lifestyle and diet changes.

How to Test for Food Intolerance

The Food Intolerance Test only requires a small hair sample that you can quickly and painlessly collect at home. Unlike tests requiring blood and urine samples, hair testing is usually unaffected by recent activities like stress and food intake.

Upon placing an order, we will send a testing kit to your address. This kit contains all you need to take your hair sample. To successfully collect your sample, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • Even though it is not always possible, we encourage you to try to include the root hair when getting your samples.
  • If cutting your hair, try to cut it as close to the root as possible.
  • The sample only requires a few hair strands (3-4) if your hair is longer than an inch.
  • You can use any form of hair, but do NOT use hair from a hair brush or a similar accessory to avoid cross-contamination.
  • Hair dye or hair treatments will not affect the test results.

Once you have collected your hair sample, place it in a small sealable bag to ensure it remains dry and secure. Do NOT use metal foil or metallic packaging to enclose the sample. Do NOT include other items in the same bag.

After enclosing the sample in a secure bag, place it in an envelope or postage wallet. Finally, send the sample to the address provided.

The results of this test will be available within 3 to 5 working days from the time the laboratory receives the samples.

The Limitations of the Food IntoleranceTest

To ensure clarity and conciseness, your results will be organized into sections based on the type of items tested. Each section will have a summary page highlighting the most important information. A comprehensive list of all tested items can be found in the detailed analysis page.

The metal toxicity analysis determines your sensitivity to metals included in the test. However, it will NOT indicate the amount of metal present in your body.
